Jesus' Love is Perfect and Complete

It’s Valentine’s Day, and flowers, chocolate, hearts, and rom-com movies surround us. It’s a perfect day to celebrate the perfect relationships we have. Or is it?

For most people, today is a reminder of the imperfect relationships we have or have had.

Maybe you’ve lost a loved one, or been betrayed and dumped, or just haven’t found your soulmate.

Let me let you in on a secret… There is no perfect relationship! We are all flawed and most likely will disappoint our spouse or partner. That’s a given.

My husband and I have both experienced betrayal and desertion, and it’s not a fuzzy, warm feeling.

You may have an imperfect love life,

but Jesus loves you completely—no unsubscribe button, no fine print, just lifetime coverage.

The apostle Paul says it best in Ephesians 3:16-19 (NLT): “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

Jesus’ love is perfect and complete!

Reflection: Are your expectations of others too high? Are you comparing your relationships to a rom-com? Take time today to rest in the unfailing love of Jesus.
