What word does God have for you today?

Back in 2021, when my life felt like it was falling apart, I started asking myself some hard, personal questions:
• What do I like about myself?
• What do I dislike about myself that I can’t change?
• What negative and positive emotions do I feel today?
• What do these feelings tell me about myself?
• What are my emotional needs today?
• What do I want to see changed in my personality?
• How can I make these changes?
And the last one… What are God’s words for me today?
It’s been five years since I first did this exercise. This morning, I sat down and answered all of these questions again.
Being that honest and vulnerable with myself is tough. It makes me emotional and introspective—two things I don’t naturally gravitate toward.
But when I get to that last question, something shifts. It becomes inspiring. I pause, I breathe, and I ask God for the words: “Father, what is the word or what are the words you want for me today?”
This morning, He gave me three words: Contentment, Discipline, and Choose.
Each of these words carries a lot of weight for me. They touch areas where I often feel insecure, sad, or even guilty. But at the same time, they gently nudge me to wake up and notice the roses in my life—to see what’s good, stable, and already here.
So I’m sitting with those three words today, letting them shape how I think, feel, and move through my day.
And now I’m wondering:
What words does God have for you today?
Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV) ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
